Help us support all the animals of The Gentle Barn this holiday season! This weekend, our sweet little Lolli in Tennessee is turning one and we are celebrating her first birthday. If you are in the Nashville area, please join us on Sunday, December 16 between the hours of 11am-1pm. If you can’t be there in person, please consider making a donation in honor of Lolli’s first birthday.
Born last December, Lolli lost her back feet and the tips of her ears to frostbite. She could not keep up with the herd and her mom, Minnie Mae, so she was left alone. Thanks to a concerned neighbor, we brought Lolli home to The Gentle Barn Tennessee in August. Because she’s still very young, and we never separate loved ones, we brought Lolli’s mom home too!
Once we got Lolli settled, we started getting advice about her feet. We knew she would need surgeries and prosthetics to run, jump, and play with ease. After our experience with Dudley, we decided that she needed to be cared for by the wonderful vet staff at UT Knoxville! The founders drove her and her mom there and stayed with her for a surgery and afterwards to heal and get fitted for prosthetics by the talented Ronnie Graves, who made Dudley’s foot!
Lolli and Minnie Mae came back from the hospital and Lolli started life with her new feet in her forever home. She can run and play with her mom in the sun, chase the birds and explore the barn, and enjoy life in a whole new way! She’s great about getting her feet checked every couple hours, as well as being very patient when it’s time to take her feet off and put on her night booties! We are so proud and so happy for her, it’s no wonder people are over the moon for this sweet little goat!
Thank you for supporting the work of The Gentle Barn! Dudley was the first animal at The Gentle Barn who needed prosthetics and Lolli is the most recent, but with your help, she won’t be the last!
