Exciting News! We have a new arrival at The Gentle Barn, A NEW BABY TURKEY!

She's absolutely adorable and we want YOU to help us name her! For every $25 bale of hay you donate, you'll get to suggest a name for our newest addition! The more bales of hay you purchase, the more times your suggested name will be entered into the drawing.

Your support goes a long way in providing a loving home for all our animal rescues, including our sweet turkey chick.

We have a strict no-breeding policy because if we have room for a new animal, we want to save one and not create one. To implement this protocol, we collect the eggs from the birds the minute they are laid. We have a new staff member who knew to collect the eggs he could find in the barn but didn’t know to look under a turkey for possible eggs. By the time we found out that our turkey, Brave, was sitting on an egg, it was too late to humanely take it from her.

The egg has now hatched, and out came a beautiful little turkey. She will have an extraordinary life experiencing what almost no other turkey does: staying with her Mom, Dad, and her Gentle Barn Family, surrounded by love.
