Up until now, big business has been responsible for a lot of destruction to our world. They have caused heart disease and cancer to our bodies. They have caused suffering to animals. They have caused destruction to our forests, oceans, and skies. Now big business is purchasing vegan companies. The dairy industry owns silk. Tyson invested millions in Beyond Meat. Field Roast was just bought out by Canada’s leading meat distributor. Some vegan folks are outraged, but at The Gentle Barn, we think these changes are AWESOME!

Little by little, more and more people have been getting informed, opening their hearts to animals, taking their health back into their own hands, and demanding change. Finally big business is listening! These huge companies who have enslaved and slaughtered animals for centuries are finally opening up to vegan products and exploring if peace is in fact profitable. It is our one and only job to buy these products and show them that it is. There are many animal rights activists who do not want to put money into the hands of the meat and dairy industry and are boycotting these products. We can see why they would say this. We say, however, that every time we buy silk, Beyond Meat, and Field Roast we are letting these huge companies know that they are heading in the right direction.

Burger King offers a veggie burger, while McDonald's does not. I can understand why a vegan person might not want to buy something at Burger King, but if we were all to make the veggie burger the most purchased, consumed and demanded thing on their menu, they will be sure to get more vegan items, and McDonald's would be sure to follow. These huge companies are not going to just accept defeat and go away. If we vote with our dollars, though, and show them that peace is profitable, they will change and bend to our will. That is how big business will transform and lead the way to protecting the environment, healing our bodies, and setting animals free. That is how the world will change. That is the number one thing we can do as consumers to affect that change quickly!

So go out when you can and buy some silk yogurt, Almond milk, Beyond Meat burgers, and Field Roast deli slices. Come to a Gentle Barn near you on a Sunday, hug a cow, have a Field Roast vegan hot dog for lunch, and let's change the world together!
