It was so great to spend time with Dudley and all his pals this week in Knoxville, Tennessee. Dudley is doing amazingly well: his prosthesis fits like a glove, he is playing, running, exploring, and loving life. He is madly in love with his girl, Destiny, and the two of them are inseparable. Destiny receives acupuncture, massage therapy, and light therapy each month and she is feeling great. The two bovines share a pasture with our two piggies, Horton and Henry, and most of the time they all act like a bunch of pups at a dog park. They play ball, chase, tug-of-war, and nap together each day.

Rick Springfield and Jesse's Girl have been joined by our newly rescued turkeys who are now out of quarantine, happy and healthy. The birds follow each other around looking for bugs, lounging in the sun, or dust bathing in the soft dirt. They are all so happy. It will take a while until the three turkeys trust people, but time heals all wounds.

Our four horses, Worthy, Indie, Chris, and Daisy are having a blast. They have a huge, green pasture all to themselves and they cannot wait to get out there to run, play, and graze each morning after being groomed. Worthy's leg is straight and strong, and she's so healthy that it's hard to imagine she's the same emaciated, broken horse that we found three years ago.

If you haven't had a chance yet, come give Horton and Henry tummy rubs, feed the horses carrots, and stroke their velveteen muzzles. Also, you can hold Jesse's Girl and tell Rick Springfield how handsome he is, brush Destiny and see how brave she is, meet our dog Huck, and most of all come hug Dudley, feel his warm, soft fur on your cheek, close your eyes, feel his energy, and know your life has changed forever.
