Come out on a Sunday and help us welcome him home! He had a contagious abscess on his neck, so to protect the rest of the herd, we had to bring him to our Sun Chlorella Healing Center where the abscess could be lanced, flushed, and healed. He received great medical care there, plenty of Sun Chlorella to boost his immune system, and Puremedy salve to help him heal.
Usually, Brave Heart’s days are full of mischief - climbing on top of the pot bellied pig houses, stealing the llama food from the llamas, playing with other goats and sheep, following us around for more attention, and keeping us all laughing. At The Healing Center, Brave Heart’s days were less active as his body needed to rest and recover. Thanks to our amazing staff, Brave Heart received plenty of attention, treats, and even got a private acoustic guitar concert every night.
Once the abscess was completely gone, we were able to bring Brave Heart home. After about five minutes of being here, he was right back to his shenanigans. He has come so far from the tiny frightened goat we took in two years ago. He apparently ran away from being eaten and was found and brought to the safety of The Gentle Barn. Brave Heart did not know it was possible to be a pet or a family member, he only knew of one awful thing that happened to goats. So, it took us awhile to convince Brave Heart that he was safe and sound here with us. With time, lots of love, and help from the other animals, Brave Heart finally settled into barnyard life and realized that with us he will always be sheltered and adored. Brave Heart is a breath of fresh air, much more like a mischievous puppy that a goat, and we love having him around!
