Inspiring Kindness and Compassion towards Animals, Our Planet, and Each Other

What wouldn't you give to save a life?

The Gentle Barn received a phone call about a pug who was attacked by a coyote, was lying in a horse pasture and was still alive, but barely. Jay and Ellie rushed over there and found the little guy lying on the ground with a huge gash in his back and wounds on his neck, near his jugular. Judging by the way his wounds looked he was lying there for hours, probably all night. They explained to him that they were there to help and picked him up and rushed him to the hospital for emergency surgery.

He has a microchip, but after many calls to try and find his owner we have discovered that the microchip was never registered. So we called the animal shelter and the different vets in the area in an attempt to find his home, as his family must be worried sick.

We've nicknamed him Rakki, which means lucky in Japanese.

The little guy is now at the hospital recovering from surgery. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery and will soon be running around with his tongue flapping in the wind, wagging his tail and making people smile.

Thankfully this pup was rescued and now has a chance to be healthy and have a great life!

Saving this dog and all of the hundreds of other animals we rescue each year is made possible only by your generous support. We are willing to work as hard as it takes, but paying for feed, vet care and the extensive costs of running The Gentle Barn and caring for so many unwanted animals can only be done with your continued participation.

Please give now so we can continue saving and rehabilitating animals who have no where else to go and helping children to have a place of healing and safety and where they can be seen for the perfect beings that they are. Thank you so much for being a part of our Gentle Family and enabling us to save lives each and every day!

With Gratitude,
