Barn Update

Animals from the meat and dairy industry are usually kept pregnant, so when we rescued 30 animals from the backyard butcher we were expecting some babies.

Several weeks ago Louise, one of the cows, had a baby girl who was named Susie Q.

This week Sapphire, one of the sheep, gave birth to a healthy, happy, gorgeous baby boy!

All babies born at The Gentle Barn will know only kindness, safety, respect and love and will get to grow up with their mommies, a privilege most farm animals don’t get. This baby boy is so excited about what his legs can do that he spends most of the time hopping in the air like a bunny rabbit and twirling around.

To suggest a name for the baby sheep, click here to donate $20. Suggest a name in the notes section and in two weeks we will pick one of the names from a hat.
