Read Victory's Story (In Memoriam)
Victory as born inside a slaughterhouse and saved her mother’s life. In a rare act of compassion, the slaughterhouse owner allowed us to have them both to bring home to The Gentle Barn. But because Victory’s mom, Patsy was young, inexperienced, and completely terrified from the trauma of the slaughterhouse, Victory never got enough colostrum and had no immune system. By the time we brought them home, Victory had an infection in her gut that spread to her joints making it painful to walk, and staph and E Coli infections in her lungs making it hard to breathe. Victory fought hard, and we tried every single thing we could think of to heal her, including veterinary care, antibiotics, probiotics, acupuncture, massage therapy, energy healing, sound healing, Sun Chlorella Algae Super Food to boost her immune system, and of course lots of love, to no avail, her body just could not overcome. After three weeks, Victory passed away in our arms, as we kissed her face, and promised we would never stop telling her story.
