Tivoli the bird, living in sanctuary at The Gentle Barn California
Tivoli was said to have belonged to a man who passed away. With no one to care for him, Tivoli took to the streets. He dazzled the neighborhood with his bright colors, melodic songs, and sweet personality. He slept in a giant tree and had to cross the street to get to it. Concerned neighbors took turns crossing the street with him, put up signs, named him, fed him, and fell in love with him. Some community members were concerned for his safety and called the Audubon Society, who asked us to take him. Tivoli was loved and adored, and many members of his neighborhood were sad to see him go, but they can visit him at The Gentle Barn and can continue to see him grow and thrive. I am sure Tivoli misses the many kind people that took care of him, but he has adjusted to life at our barn very well. Here he has freedom and safety, the attention of our staff, volunteers, and guests, and sleeps surrounded by our chickens and turkeys who all seem to love him. With his adoring audience, large family, and many new friends, we look forward to caring for and loving Tivoli for many years to come.
