Read Surprise's Story ^{(In Memoriam)}

Surprise was born unexpectedly at The Gentle Barn months after rescuing his mom from slaughter. Our bovine family encircled Surprise and watched the birth and labor. They watched him take his very first steps and learn to nurse. Surprise nursed from his mom till he was five, was raised at The Gentle Barn with family, playmates, safety, and gentle hands, and spent his entire life with his mom, Karma, and brother, Mr. Rojas. Surprise was so huge that he sadly passed away at the age of eight because he could no longer walk. His mom and brother were by his side to say farewell and he felt only love from birth to the moment he transitioned. One day all cows will have this picture-perfect life.
