Story was used as a beef cow for over two decades. Each year she was impregnated and when her baby was six to twelve months old, the baby was taken away to slaughter as Story cried. She had her last baby taken from her in 2019. When it was time to retire her, instead of sending her to slaughter, Story's person asked us to take her. Other than taking her babies, away, her person was gentle to her and even had tears in his eyes as he dropped her off. Story has a deep sadness in her and seems empty and lonely. Now that she is with us, she already loves the cookies and is making friends with all our other animals, and we are working hard to fill her up with all the love in the world for the rest of her life!
