Read Shirley Temple's Story (In Memoriam)
Shirley Temple was rescued from an extreme cruelty case along with over 100 other animals. She came in extremely sick, with a runny nose, a deep cough, and a high fever. We spent months healing her and the others with great veterinary care, Sun Chlorella, and lots of love. Shirley Temple finally healed, forgave the past, and learned to trust us.
Shirley Temple grew up at The Gentle Barn. Sheep typically live till approximately eight years old, but surely Temple lived till 14. She ate nutrient rich organic food, fresh clean water, bedtime treats, and enjoyed the attention from our staff, Volunteers, and guests. She loved it here, and she had the life that all animals deserve. When Shirley Temple was suffering at the age of 14 with severe arthritis, mobility issues, and a bone infection, we peacefully helped her out of her body and set her free. We will miss her deep throated baaaahs, her gentle golden eyes, and spending time petting her under our shade trees.
