Rumi was born at The Gentle Barn weeks after we rescued his mom from slaughter. Unlike so many cows, Rumi has only known kindness, safety, and love. He also had the extraordinary gift of growing up with his mom by his side.

His mom nursed him for five years, groomed him with her tongue, and gave him the nurturing every baby deserves. Their bond was beautiful, and they remained inseparable throughout her life.

Now fifteen years old and experiencing mobility challenges, Rumi recently moved from our Sun Chlorella Healing Center to The Gentle Barn’s main property. Here, the soft sand is easier on his body, his food and water are nearby, and he receives specialized care alongside other senior cows.
This move marks an exciting new chapter because visitors can now meet Rumi for the first time. You can spend time with him, discover his unique personality, and experience the gentle presence of this remarkable senior cow.
