Read Penny's Story (In Memoriam)
Penny was a tiny baby when she fell off a transport truck. A man driving by saw Penny on the side of the road picked her up and saved her life. Penny was then adopted by a young woman and raised in her house as a family member. When Penny grew too big to live in a house, she was brought to The Gentle Barn. Penny acclimated to life with us very quickly, made friends, and loved belly rubs and the all-day attention she got from our staff, volunteers, and guests. She was sweet and kind to all animals and humans alike and was loved and adored by all who knew her. She loved Long mud baths, splashing in her water bowl, and spooning with her sisters. Penny passed away suddenly in her sleep of heart failure at the age of six.
