Read Opal's Story ^{(In Memoriam)}

Opal came to The Gentle Barn, along with other chickens who were at risk from predators, and their family asked us to take them into the safety of The Gentle Barn. The entire family loved it at The Gentle Barn and basked in the sunlight, explored our spacious barnyards, ate delicious foods and treats, and loved their life. Over the years they passed away one by one of old age and opal was the last one to pass. She not only loved to be held, got along with all the other animals, but married are guinea fowl, David Bowie and the two were inseparable. We will forever remember her bright, joyous light.
