Nigel was found on the side of a busy highway in Nashville, alone, scared, and pecking through litter. How he got there we can’t say for sure, but it’s most likely that a human left him there, as it would have been difficult for him to access that location by himself. Luckily one of our staff members at The Gentle Barn Tennessee happened to drive by, and they were able to catch Nigel with the help of several kind-hearted passersby. We didn’t have space for a rooster at our Tennessee sanctuary, so after completing quarantine, Nigel took an epic road trip to his new home at The Gentle Barn Missouri!

From the moment he arrived, Nigel stole our hearts completely. This handsome boy is charismatic, talkative, affectionate, and bursting with personality. Nigel will live the rest of his life as the protector of the flock at The Gentle Barn Missouri and show everyone how loving, intelligent, and loyal roosters really are!
