Madonna the cow, living in sanctuary at The Gentle Barn California
Madonna was taken away from her mom at birth and chained so she couldn't walk. To make her get into the truck to slaughter she was stabbed with a pitchfork. When we brought her home to The Gentle Barn she was emaciated, filthy, terrified and very sick. After months of care Madonna's wounds have healed, she loves people and her favorite place to be is snuggled up next to someone.
Because of Madonna‘s age and size it is becoming more difficult for her to stand up. She can stand up, but it’s taking more effort and more time to get up on her knees. Because of this, she actually hurt her knee the other day and we’ve been keeping it clean with lots of Puremedy Healing Salve.
In order to protect her knees moving forward we got her some kneepads and they are keeping her knees safe and sound, allowing her sore to heal beautifully, and protecting protecting her knees when she stands up. and she looks pretty in pink!
