Read Katie's Story ^{(In Memoriam)}

Katie belonged to a lovely older gentleman along with six other hens. They were his companions. He was preparing to pass away from cancer and knew he could not rest until his ladies were cared for. We agreed to take them in, promised him they would be loved, and he passed away soon after. Kati loved it at The Gentle Barn. She enjoyed dust bathing, naps in the sun, the companionship of all the other animals, being cradled in our arms, and the delicious fresh produce each morning. She was always curious, social, happy, and active. Katie brightened up our barnyard and we were grateful to have known her. Katie passed away suddenly of old age and will forever be missed.
