We took in a mommy pig and her young son from a family who could not afford to care for them properly. We found out later that the mom also had three daughters, and we were able to bring the entire family to The Gentle Barn Missouri location so the family could have the care that they needed and stay forever intact. Jilly follows her mom around and sleeps right next to her. She is the most shy when it comes to human interaction, but she is slowly getting used to us. We are giving her lots of treats, which she won't take from our hands yet, but we are hoping that soon she will roll over for tummy rubs and leave her past behind. Jilly is an example of the tremendous bond baby animals have with their moms and teaches us all that animals deserve to stay together as a family just like we do.
