Read Jesse's Girl's Story (In Memoriam)
Jesse's Girl came to us at just a few months old to be a companion for our rescued rooster, Rick Springfield. She spent two and half years teaching people how smart, sweet and affectionate chickens could be. She loved to play, loved to cuddle and could always be found by the side of her husband, Rick Springfield. After noticing Jesse's Girl was not acting like herself she was rushed to the vet where they began fluids and meds to try to stabilize her for surgery. When they opened her up they found the worst case of cancer they had ever seen. All of her organs were covered in tumors and they couldn't believe she made it as long as she did. We know it was because she was loved by so many and had the happiest life a chicken could ask for. Jesse's Girl will always hold a special place in our hearts here in Tennessee. She is the first chicken so many of us held, cuddled and fell in love with. Her body may be gone, but her love and spirit will love on in our hearts forever.
