Read Girlfriend's Story ^{(In Memoriam)}

Girlfriend came from a home where she and her six sisters were loved and cared for as family members. When the family moved, they quickly found out their home was not safe for Girlfriend and her sisters. As hard as it was, they knew they had to find a safer place for them. Knowing that not many people will care for hens the way they had been, they reached out to us and we were happy to give them a forever home. Girlfriend was a ray of sunshine. She was such a loving and sweet chicken. She was an amazing friend, sister, wife, and ambassador for animals. Girlfriend loved eating bananas, soaking in the sun, exploring the yard, and cuddling with her friends- human and chicken alike. She showed many people how loving and full of personality chickens are. We miss her so much, and we are so honored that we got to experience life with Girlfriend at The Gentle Barn.
