Read Freddy's Story ^{(In Memoriam)}

We were about to start off a brand new week when our beautiful Freddy decided it was time to leave. Freddy Mercury was the last lady to leave of the 20 chicks we rescued. We will never forget how sweet she was and what a great ambassador she was on behalf of chickens all over. We thank you so much for loving her with us and supporting her each month, she led the best life because you helped in her care. Freddy lived a life full of breezy, sunny days spent out in the grass, the most of which she spend with her guy Langhorne Slim. She got to explore the outdoors looking for sweet grass and bugs to eat, and come in to the comfort of a cozy nest for the night. She received acupuncture to keep her more comfortable in her later months when her body became too big to support on her sore legs, and she loved every session spent with the practitioner. She was not destined to live long as a genetically modified chicken, but the fact that she almost got to a year old was so amazing! She was cuddled and pet by hundreds of guests who learned just how amazing and wonderful chickens were with her sweet demeanor, and she changed so many hearts through her time with us. We are so glad you were a part of her life and we thank you so much for helping keep her happy and comfortable for as long as she could be here. She will forever be in our hearts.
