Read Dylan's Story ^{(In Memoriam)}

Dylan was an extremely special lady whom we were fortunate to know and spend time with. She was in a market to be picked out live and then processed. Fortunately, someone bought her and four others and brought them to the safety of The Gentle Barn instead. The sisters lived a beautiful life in our California barnyard. When Dylan got older, she had trouble breathing. We brought her to our veterinarian right away to find that she had a heart condition. She was put on heart medication and we brought her into our office to have a softer, temperature-controlled environment to enjoy for the rest of her life.

Dylan had free roam of our office, sat next to us at our desks, shared lunch with us, and even sat on the dog bed with our dogs. All our private tours came into our office to meet her and she loved the attention. Dylan's favorite snacks were grapes, corn, and peanut butter sandwiches. Dylan loved being part of our office crew!

About a year later, Dylan was happily gobbling up dinner at the end of the day when suddenly her heart gave out. We raced over to her and picked her up. Dylan passed away in our arms quickly, quietly, and peacefully. It will always be strange working in the office without her happy purr, and we will miss her always and forever. We were extremely lucky to have known her and to have witnessed her intelligence, personality, and affection. Dylan was no different than any dog!
