Read Duchess's Story (In Memoriam)
Duchess was left in the dessert with her younger brother King with no food, water, or shelter. Desperate, the two found their way closer and closer to a housing development and someone who lived there called us to help them. We brought the terrified pair home to live with us for the rest of their lives. At first Duchess and King were terribly afraid of us, but soon began to trust us and after several months we were able to hand feed them. Duchess was always proud, regal, noble, beautiful, and powerful; the queen of the barnyard.
Duchess lived in our barnyard for many years. At the age of 23 she quietly, peacefully, and easily transitioned out of her body and crossed over. True to form, Duchess did it in her own time, in her own way. We will forever miss her grace and glory, and feel so grateful that we got to meet her, know her and love her!
