Read Daisy's Story (In Memoriam)
Our sweet girl, Daisy, left her body today. She had breakfast this morning and joined her turkey and chicken friends in the barn for the
day before silently leaving her body. Daisy had a wonderful life here with us.
For a chicken who was genetically modified to get so big so quickly so she could be eaten at 5-7 weeks, she lived in comfort and
happiness for 5 months and then quickly moved on. Although our hearts are broken, we couldn't wish for anything better for her. She didn't suffer with a long illness or the loss of her mobility like most broiler chickens who are allowed to live do and for that we are grateful.
Daisy and her brother Blossom were living in bodies that were set up to fail. They had the mind and spirits of beautiful babies and wanted nothing more than to run, chase, and play all day long. We are so honored to have been able to give them those things for as long as possible. We will continue to be her voice and tell her story forever, Daisy changed so many hearts and we are so thankful to have known and loved her.
