Brave's people could no longer care for her and asked if The Gentle Barn could take her. It just so happens that just the day before, our beloved turkey Alice passed away, and it was in Alice's memory that we decided to adopt Brave. Brave is a wild turkey which means she is exactly the way nature designed turkeys to be, as opposed to the genetically engineered turkeys who are much larger and have a much shorter lifespan. Brave loves to boss our emu around and every once in a while will puff herself up and follow us around like our own personal escort. She is as sweet as she is smart and we hope to have her as part of our family for many years to come.
