Bolt the goat, living in sanctuary at The Gentle Barn California
Bolt was raised and loved by a wonderful family who lived on the outskirts of Los Angeles by the mountains. Raised alongside his brother, they were very bonded. Tragically, Bolt and his brother were attacked by a mountain lion and Bolt was in the mountain lion's mouth about to be carried off. Bolt's brother’s screams alerted their human mom who ran to save them, and, thankfully, the mountain lion dropped Bolt and ran off. Bolt was seriously injured and took months to heal. Bolt’s brother passed away afterward from heart failure. Once Bolt was physically rehabilitated from the attack, his loving family worried that they would be unable to keep him safe and asked us to bring him home to The Gentle Barn. We will be helping him recover emotionally from the trauma, and the tremendous loss of his brother, and supporting him in his senior years with acupuncture, energy healing, music therapy, and, of course, lots of love. His mom has promised to visit him often and we are going to do everything we can to take perfect care of Bolt for the rest of his life.
