Read Eliza's Story ^{(In Memoriam)}

Eliza was hatched in a classroom and later became someone's pet. After a while the novelty of having a hen wore off and she was brought to The Gentle Barn to become part of our forever family. Like all egg laying hens, Eliza's DNA was genetically engineered so she would produce more eggs earlier than normal. As this was extremely taxing on her uterus, we are keeping a close eye on Eliza so she stays healthy and happy here with us. Eliza is very friendly and stops to chat when we talk to her, especially when we tell her how pretty she is!
