Read Eliza's Story (In Memoriam)
Eliza was rescued from the animal shelter. Chickens typically live between 7 and 10 years, but Eliza lived with us until eleven years old! She absolutely loved her life here and we loved her. She was always happy and narrated her joyfilled days with bright cheep, cheeps. When we spoke to her and told her how pretty she was, she would come over, look right at us, cock her head to each side, and say "tell me more". She loved greens and berries, and being held in our arms. Eliza never got sick, she just got old and decided it was time to transition. She stopped eating and we took her right away to the vet to assist her passing with dignity and ease. She fluttered home while we told her over and over again how very much we love her and how much well think of her for years to come.
