Sun, Jun 13, 2021 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM PDT

This will be a 90-minute virtual, live event on Zoom where Ellie will share stories of our rescued animals and everything they have taught her about their passing, including time for a Q and A at the end where you will get to speak directly with Ellie.

Ellie Laks is The Founder of The Gentle Barn, Author of My Gentle Barn, animal communicator, TEDx speaker, and celebrated animal welfare advocate. After decades in animal rescue, Ellie shares with us all that animals have taught her about their passing in hopes that their stories will give you as much strength, courage, and hope that they do for her.

A Message from Ellie:

Animals have always been my greatest teachers, especially over the last twenty-two-year history of The Gentle Barn. They have taught me about relationships, love, and life. Sadly, by design, we typically outlive our animal angels: to love them, is to eventually lose them. I would not trade a second of knowing them, nor will I ever be without an animal in my life, but it sure brings heartache the more we love them and the closer the relationship.

Due to COVID, the last year has been hard on all of us and we have all experienced some kind of loss, whether it is of a job, relationship, home, or the connection with other people. Many of us have lost loved ones, not even being able to say goodbye or visit with them during their last days. And many of us have experienced losing the lives of animal companions, some of whom were closer to us than anyone else. Under "normal" times, when we suffer a tremendous loss, we busy ourselves with work, or going out, and try to handle the emotions with distractions. But over the last year, we have been forced to face our feelings with no distractions, nowhere to go, and nothing else to do but sit in them. That has been one of the hardest parts of Covid for so many of us!

Animals mourn “death” but they also accept it with more ease and grace than we typically do. They do not see it as an ending, but rather a change in how we experience that relationship. They seem to see the bigger picture more effortlessly. And as an animal communicator, I speak to animals who have transitioned almost daily and the one thing they say over and over again is that they have not left us, they are still right here.

I would like to spend a few hours with you sharing stories about some of our animals, and the many things they have taught me about “death”. Please join me as I share the wisdom of our greatest teachers and ambassadors. We’ll have plenty of time for a Q and A at the end! Our time together and the stories shared will inspire you, ease your minds, heal your hearts, and change the way you see life, “death”, and the world around us!
