Bunny Adoption & Fostering

We rescued 21 bunnies from a research lab where they lived in a cage and were subject to awful cruelty. Since coming to The Gentle Barn they are now safe, healthy, spayed, socialized, and learning to trust that humans can be kind and the world can be good. They now need loving forever homes.

The majority of the rabbits are New Zealand Whites who are huge, calm, sweet, docile, friendly, curious, and kind. They can grow up to 12 pounds and live up to 10 years. They can learn tricks, play with toys, will bond with you and come when called, they are extremely affectionate, will want to cuddle, and will learn quickly to use a litter box like a cat. They eat grass hay, organic fruits and vegetables, and timothy hay pellets. They drink water from either a bowl or a bunny water bottle. They do not need a cage and will get along with other animals, like cats and dogs as long as the other animals are gentle with them. They do not do well in the heat, which is why we cannot keep them in our barnyard and will need to live indoors. They are extremely affectionate with each other, so unless you already have a rabbit, we will be hoping to adopt them out in pairs, depending on the circumstances.

We have both adoption and fostering opportunities. If you live in The Los Angeles area or within driving distance, please fill out the application. Once received, we will review it and contact you to answer any questions and set up a bunny visit and home check. Thank you so much for having room in your home and heart for these angels, you are going to LOVE them!
