We returned to California this week after an amazing grand opening in St. Louis. We sold out to guests from all over the country and they were all smiles, hugs, and warmth. And… the animals loved it! Rosie bathed in her pool, loving the attention while her adoring fans watched. Petunia rolled over for tummy rubs and snuggled up to visitors. Peyton strutted around, eating out of peoples’ hands to praise and compliments. The chicks patiently allowed themselves to be held, inspiring all with their stories and sweetness. The stars of the day, the boys, were a perfect example of resilience. Chico and Roo ate cookies from everyones’ hands while Eddie, Houdini, and Johnny Cash watched and posed for pictures. The St. Louis Six became ambassadors and another leap forward was taken in their recovery and road to trust us. It was a wonderful day for all!

The cows have come so far, so fast, and bidding them farewell was excruciating. I wanted more time to sit with them and continue their healing. I absolutely know, however, they're in excellent hands with Michelle who'll bond and care for them as I did. Many tears were shed on the drive to the airport and on the plane, but soon after landing in Los Angeles we were sucked back into our routine re-uniting with our West Coast babies, taking care of seniors,and realizing how much we missed home.
