"Mamma Dear" was rescued from the racetrack, where her frail body was severely damaged. She was several hundred pounds underweight and her muscles were so torn that she could hardly move.

We treated her with continual deep tissue equine massage therapy and she can now move around. Once we restored her physical health, we knew that it was time to work on her spirit, which was completely crushed due to years of being treated like a machine. She believed that if a person came near her they were going to hit or hurt her.

It has been a year since her rescue and it has just been recently that she will let us pet her with out her bracing for the blow. However, she is slowly getting used to her daily massage and grooming session and we are starting to see joy in her eyes instead of lonely despair.

She loves the children and will stand still for them for hours so that they can groom her. Mamma Dear will need ongoing deep tissue equine message therapy, special nutrients, and careful exercise for the rest of her life.
