A family raised Cybil until she was a few months old, however, when they moved, they left her on the front lawn. She waited for months for them to come back for her, but they never did. She survived by eating out of the trash.

When we rescued her she was wild, terrified of humans, and would not let anyone get close to her. It took us 10 months of intense therapy until we were able to touch her, and another 3 years until she learned to accept strangers.

Cybil is still very insecure and afraid of loud or sudden noises. Her therapy is a daily ongoing process and she will need special care for the rest of her life.
