Addison the donkey was rescued from severe abuse and neglect. He was made to work and pull heavy equipment, and when he did not move fast enough, he was beaten. He was not given proper food, shelter or care, and was eventually confiscated from his tormentor.

When he arrived at The Gentle Barn he was very timid and any sudden movement would send him running. After months of dedicated patience, we can now pet Addison and even massage his wonderful fuzzy ears.

He is still a little bit shy with strangers but his confidence increases every day. He delights visitors with his musical hee-haws and his enormous brown eyes.
