Inspiring Kindness and Compassion towards Animals, Our Planet, and Each Other

In the Barnyard: May 4, 2017

Male pigs have tusks and they can grow quite long and become quite sharp. To ensure that they don’t hurt themselves or anyone else by accident, we trim our pigs’ tusks each spring. We also trim their hooves. Our wonderful veterinarian, Dr. Molnar, came out this week to do dentals and pedicures on all our pigs. We sedated Zeus as he won’t allow us to trim him any other way, but we were able to trim Honey Bear just by giving him a simple tummy rub. Honey Bear is AMAZING!

Our sweet Honey Bear is now available to sponsor. Your monthly donation will help him get the food, trims, and vet care that he needs. You'll get monthly behind the scenes updates, new pictures of him, and get to be involved in his life, for the rest of his life. Thank you for loving animals with us and for being a part of our gentle family.
