New Turkeys

Each year we rescue at least one turkey from Thanksgiving. This year we saved three. They were raised in cages and until coming to The Gentle Barn had never touched the ground. They have been having a blast chasing bugs, checking us out, and digging and nesting in the straw. They have been in quarantine since we rescued them to make sure they didn’t bring any illnesses to our barnyard and it’s a good thing because they did have a cold. They are on antibiotics and are already doing much better. We sit with them each day and they love chewing on our hair, checking out our cloths, and making happy chirping noises the whole time. We are keeping our fingers crossed that they can come out of quarantine in time for Thanksgiving so everyone can meet them!
